Very Simple app for extracting images

Easy and Inexpensive

Great application! Easy to use and just what I needed!

Awesome

Just used the software for the first 30 minutes and had to come back and write a review. This is easy software and does a great job. I am capturing pictures from my 30 gig of GoPro clips in seconds. Yeah.

Exactly what I wanted!

SnapMotion 2 makes video captures perfectly and simply and fast. Using other programs, I used to have to create a massive number of captures and then sift through all of them. But Snap Motion 2 worked so well as a player too that for the frist time ever I just added the video, used my mouse to scroll thru the video at my leisure and "snap" at each exact point I wanted to use. I am so glad I found this. Thank you

Works Great

Works for me, grabbed golf video from iMovie in finder dropped in snapmotion and took a few still shots of my swing, like 10 pics for 1 swing. Now i have to work on my swing.

YES. thank you!

After a frustrating time searching through the Mac forums and googling solutions for what seems to be a simple task I tried a coupoe of App purchases and got skunked twice. Then I foiund this and Im really glad I did. Its so simple and so clean and so easy, even I ( a guy who converted from Pc to Mac yesterday) can use it!! I took a bunch of surfing video on my GoPro and knew from pausing the clips in iMovie that there were some great stills to be had…..now thatnsk to you I can bore all my facebook friends to death with pics of me catching some sweet lines. Thank you again, I hope you keep sharing your skills and get rewarded for them. WELL WORTH THE $3.99!

Crap

it blows the picture up so much you cant even see what the picture is about.. Ive tried the different settings but still not worth it.. I would like a refund!!

Excellent!

As a filmmaker SnapMotion is a godsend for me. It makes capturing images from my Quicktime movies easy and QUICK. In the past I had to use the small utility Grab which was tedious and had many steps — no more! I appreciate the keyboard controls, especially being able to step through frame-by-frame with the arrow keys. The process is intuitive, letting me focus on finding the right frame. You can save in high quality JPEG or PNG. Not sure what the quality settings are, but the file sizes lead me to believe it is set to maximum. If this is something you need then purchasing is a no-brainer! Two thumbs up!

Great addition to the vacation

Brought a GoPro Hero 3 on vacation to the beach and combined with this app I was able to capture some really great shots of the kids. Things like grabbing a picture from a frame where the wave was just crashing over the heads of my kids. Or a picture of my two young ones in mid air as they jumped into the pool. It is simple and easy to use. I did find I had to use the Edit Panel to save the photos otherwise I would just get the lower left corner of the shot if I tried to do it in bulk. Great app at a great price.

Great App

Works well and easy to use.

Perfect!

Simple interface with great quality still capture. I use this to extract tons of stills from home videos. Exports them in a really simple process too. Great app!

Downloaded the app and in less than 3 minutes I had the stills I needed for the incident investigation report I’m working on. Simple + Effective = AWESOME!

Bad Choice for Video Pros

I purcahsed this thinking it would simplify the process of taking still frames from videos we do for the client website. However, it will not open a ProRes video file without locking up the whole machine. I confirmed with the developer that “it doesn’t work with large video files”. I guess 10 gigs is considered too large. I’m not sure why file size would be a limiting factor aside from poorly written code. The idea behind this is good, but it falls flat on execution. It’s more of a consumer “toy” than a pro “tool”. I’m hoping a future version is more polished.

Did exactly what I wanted it to do!

Very easy to use. Worth the $4.

Perfect for the Home Photographer!

I was searching for something that would be able to extract images from my videos…something the current version of iMovie that I own does not do…and I stumbled upon this app. It is SO easy to use, and I have been able to pull some fairly high quality images from videos to share with family and friends on social media. Love this!

Recommended.

Does what it does, and does it well. Is the only app I found that allows easy stepping backwards through movies by frame. (Many allow stepping forwards by frame.) The interface collects your stills and then lets you export them as a group, works well. I tried QT 7 Pro, QT X, VLC, MPEG Streamclip — all good, but none as good as SnapMotion for quickly extracting stills from video. I have run it on MP4 files up to 1.3 GB with no problems at all. If you need to extract high-quality stills from video, and you need frame-by-frame control, get it.

Very Bad

This didnt work for me. It always crashed!! Dont Buy!!

THE REVERSE BUTTON DOES NOT WORK!!!

13” Mac book pro 16gb ram etc etc… the app is great but I need the reverse button to work and please make it a bit bigger. I will bump this to 5 stars once this is updated.
